Roses

"So instead of sending flowers, we're the roses."

That's one of my favourite lyrics of all time. Kinda felt it was mildly fitting for my mood, which is bittersweet. Let's get the bitter stuff out of the way.

Work. Fucking. Sucks. I hate my boss. It's gotten to the point where I'm starting to talk about, but she's too dense to even realize it. It's that bad. I am bluntly telling her that she's an idiot and that children have a mind, too, but she's just jabbering away and ignoring me. Stupid woman. I left early, it was that bad. I'm tempted to flat out quit. I'm glad I don't have to work Wednesdays anymore.

Sweet stuff? Chocolate is so, so yummy. Somehow he knew the only chocolate I like is Lindor. Who is he? Rain, of course. He's so amazingly sweet and wonderful. He got Artemis to buy me a carnation at school (it's a tradition at my school to buy your girl/boyfriend a carnation). Unfortunately I stayed home in the morning, so I didn't get it... My Valentine's kinda sucked. When I saw my friends, Artemis was like "where's your carnation?" and started shouting at me to go to the office and ask. I got pissed and did it and got embarrassed and really started missing Rain, like, really bad. So the day really sucked. Then we had to do rehearsals and no one wanted to be there... Ugh. Then Lynx came up to me with tears in her eyes and this story about not being able to get home... Of course I'm such a push-over. I pulled so many strings and got her home, then went back to waiting for Rain. He'd said he would meet me at the school, no matter what, to just wait and he would be there. So I waited a really, really long time. Then I saw Genie and she told me there was a carnation for me in my math classroom... It was so perfectly timed, I had just been starting to get down. So, of course, I sprint there praying that the door is unlocked and it is!

His note said, "If I could be there to kiss you, I would be here to kiss you." It was a little awkwardly phrased and completely his words and made me so happy. He got there about twenty minutes after looking kinda shy with a rose, little rose bush, and chocolates... And that annoying, sexy, smart-ass smirk of his. We went back to my place and just lazed around snuggling in my bed and talking about conspiracies and aliens 'till dinner.

Dinner actually went well and my parents really like him. Even my dad! Rain likes history, so they all got along. The guys were talking about World War II and my mom and I were loudly discussing the best shoe colour for spring. Then I had a ton of energy and we walked down to the ocean in the dark and talked about dream houses and Hawaii and the fact that I'm so stupid that I forgot I live by a bay. I really am blond sometimes... Jeez. But that's ok. I've got him to remind me of the things I forget!

We came back home and my parents went off to swimming... Aha, the rest of the story I will tell you on Friday night, Sophie. It's a little... Ahem. Heh. You may not approve.

Rain's really into spirituality, like me. Which means we believe in reincarnation and things like that. Rain had an Old Soul, which means he's been reborn many times. We're positive that we met in a previous life. How else could we be so comfortable with each other? I feel like I've known him my whole life. It's so... different with him. Different in a good way. We keep surprising ourselves. Both of us are the type who don't say things like "I love you" or do we trust easily. But we trust each other and can read each other so well, despite both being brilliant liars. And he's good, I tested him. But... Well, I love him. It hasn't been that long... But I do. I don't know how much yet... But I know we'll find out. And he loves me, too. We just haven't said it yet. He's so cute... He said we need to say it at the same time and I agree.

He's completely taken over my thought process. This hasn't happened since... Well, since Poseidon. And that was different. I loved (and love) Poseidon in a way I couldn't understand then and now do. But the way I love Rain is different... It's special. And for once, it doesn't scare me. That's probably the best part. I'm not scared for once.

'Till next time.

P.S. So excited for you to meet him, Sophie, he's just like Graves from Strange Angels.
